This has been badly reported, in the sense of hardly reported,  so far. A proper political scandal.

Elsewhere in the UK some middle ranking civil servant would take the blame, with early retirement & a pension.

I doubt it would work that quietly in Scotland

Are your, or your friends'/relatives', garages, lofts or sheds full of unused DIY gear, sewing/knitting machines or fabric and haberdashery stuff?

Lists of what is needed and a search engine to find your nearest collector (scroll to bottom for latter) are here:  http://www.twam.uk/donate-tools

I was half hoping they'd pull back from the brink, but no dice. At a time when the province needs some kind of voice in the brexit debate, they waste energy in an election campaign, which, if the polls are right (yes, I know......) may result in a stalemate after the March election, resulting in either yet more elections or direct rule from Westminster. Sad day.
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."
