Gift Aid
« on: December 30, 2016, 11:20:01 AM »
Anyone here had experience of completing Gift Aid claims?

I'm currently doing a GA claim for the railway I'm involved in, and have a signed declaration for someone who died about 9 months after signing the form.  Am I allowed to claim on that declaration, even though he died in late-2015?
Are your, or your friends'/relatives', garages, lofts or sheds full of unused DIY gear, sewing/knitting machines or fabric and haberdashery stuff?

Send a covering letter Hope, explaining when the man died, and leave it to the tax people to sort out.  I'd have thought the claim was valid as it refers to a period when he was alive but the Revenue will know;  you've been upfront so no problem.

Hadn't thought of that,Brownie.  On the form one submits, there is a space for notes and comments; I'll take your suggestion and go with that.
