He was banned for telling Americans to stop spending so much money on the military and spend it on medicine instead. How dare He!

Under 1b and Ih of the house rules, definitely  ;)

Quote
1.b Members are expected to only operate a single account at any one time. 'Sock-puppetry' is unacceptable and members found to be operating multiple-accounts can expect to be banned.
That's all that bizarre "Father/Son/Holy Ghost" business gone.

Quote
1.h While it is expected that some exchanges will be ‘robust fair comment’, members are asked to avoid comments (in posts or PMs) that may be considered to be: overtly aggressive or threatening, that are demeaning to others and specifically advocate discrimination solely on the basis of personal taste, that involve questionable sexual content, that involve gratuitous swearing or contains abuse or insults directed towards specified members, or that might reasonably be assumed to imply certain members (such by reference to a 'group') to the extent of causing offense or alarm. Members should report any posts or PMs that involve such content.
Threats of eternal torture, calls for the death of gay people, witches, Sabbath-breakers and disobedient children, bigoted comments against women ... God is toast ;)

I wonder how many people here would evven realise that this or that poster was God, Floo.

Not really; I can think of several posters here who haven't (and probably won't be) banned for posting as more than one entity.  Let's take you, Shakes.  You are a son/daughter, a sibling(?), an employee and/or employer, a spouse/partner/parent(?)  That would be a 4/5/6-in-1 personality!

If, of course, that was what God was to write about, or have a history of writing about, Shakes.

They're relationships and/or titles, for one thing. For another, none of them have anything whatever to do with this forum and the house rule about sock puppets.

There's zero evidence of any god of any kind whatever ever having written anything at all, of course.

But then, those types who believe in this sort of ... thing seem to have an awful lot to say for themselves.

No more or less so than the ' "Father/Son/Holy Ghost" business' , as you called it.

Again, no more or less so than those types who don't 'believe in this sort of thing', Shakes.  If tyhis wasn't the case, this forum would have died donkeys' years ago.

Shakes, for one - I listed some of the entities invoolved.  You, for another: I assume you're someone's child, someone's sibling, someone's spouse or partner; ...

Which - again - are relationships pertaining to the existence of other people and/or titles or positions. Not sock puppets. For Gordon to create one forum identity as himself; a separate one with a different name as "X's son"; a separate one with a different name as "X's brother"; a separate one with a different name as "X's father"; a separate one with a different name as "X's grandfather" - that - as well as being deeply weird - is the analogy you should have used.

This thread has now been returned minus some of the posts from last night. Can we please drop the subject of sock-puppetry now and amble in the general direction of the OP in relation to Facebook.

Surly over time the god bits of anything anywhere will naturally diminish, can't remember hearing much about Thor etc that much these days, but then there'll always be a few hangers on.

Oh there are more than "a few" believe me. A very large proportion of the Icelandic people who admit to a religious affiliation do so to the Nordic pantheon that includes Thor - this was noted in the thread some time ago about the first religious building in centuries being built in Iceland now.
The Holy Bible, probably the most diabolical work of fiction ever to be visited upon mankind.

And I covered that in my reponse - there are more than a few! And in Paganism, of all stripes, Norse, Celtic, Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Heathen they are increasing.

We just don't blast it all over the media!

I thank you Ippy! I really do. You have allowed me to equate you contempt for my beliefs with that of certain other posters on here from the opposite end of the belief spectrum.

And I thought better of you than that - until this post! Still, we all make mistakes, you are now added to the extensive list of mine.

I'm sorry you don't like my post Owl, I haven't just taken this stance today, it's been how I have seen any kind of woo since it dawned on me somewhere about the age of twelve years old.

It only means it's something we wouldn't agree about, it doesn't make either of us bad people, it appears to me you need woo and I don't, nothing more than that.

I don't see any people with, strange to me, beliefs as enemies other than when they start to impose these beliefs on to very young children, I have indoctrinated my children to think for themselves, if that can be classified as indoctrination.

I've done my best to guide my children by saying to them looking for evidence has to be the best way to enable belief in anything.

Regards ippy
