Man moves ambulance as it was in his way

The mind boggles, even before one reads the full story!!
Are your, or your friends'/relatives', garages, lofts or sheds full of unused DIY gear, sewing/knitting machines or fabric and haberdashery stuff?

Lists of what is needed and a search engine to find your nearest collector (scroll to bottom for latter) are here:  http://www.twam.uk/donate-tools

He actually got in and drove it?  I suppose he did unless he's Superman.

The keys shouldn't have been left in the ignition.  Paramedics everywhere, learn from this!

It seems like a selfish thing to do yet if the back doors were closed, he wouldn't have seen anyone being treated.  Probably thought it was just parked for a while.

I can't help admiring him a bit!  Hope he's not caught.

Brownie, the ignition may have been on, or at least the keys in the ignition in order to have certain equipment charging.  As for the back doors being closed, this would probably have been for the benefit (privacy) of the patient.  Assuming that an ambulance is 'just parked' out in public suggests a lack of acuity.

What are you hoping for if he does?
Life?
Hanging?

Community service, I would think.  Maybe helping to take sick people to hospital appointments in his mini?  He might get a blue badge out of that.

'Thinking' is what the man was not doing at the time but it's not a hanging offence.  I doubt he'll do it again, especially if he reads about himself in the local paper.  He'll have a lightbulb moment.

The article says he released the hand brake. So he might have done that and then rolled it out of the way.

Very likely but he wasn't supposed to do that;  still, no harm done.

A large fine at the very least for doing what he did, the person being treated in the ambulance was very ill. I don't understand how anyone could defend his action?

I'm not arguing that just releasing the hand brake and rolling the ambulance away is OK, only that he didn't necessarily need access to the ignition key.

In fact, it is much more dangerous to move a vehicle without the engine running than with. If the steering lock is on, you can't control the direction. If it's not on, the power steering won't be functioning and the brake servo assist won't be working, so the steering will be extremely heavy and the brakes will barely seem to work.

How about having an unnecessary part (appendix?) removed whilst circling on the M25? Just for fun  ;D
Ah, but I was so much older then ... I'm younger than that now
