I think the problem is not so much fake news as too much news and a lack of time to find out what is true.
Surely the implication from your own sentence is that there is fake news?
I wouldn't disagree that there is too much news. There's too much of everything these days. But fake news at the levels they appear to be at - although that in itself is difficult to gauge - is very worrying.
