And I doubt things are done consistently there. Your point would lead to atomism and total non engagement.

Teachers can be scary, intimidating, arbitrary and bullying. If a parent won't stand up to them then who will?

I did laugh at 'weekly meetings' though. Extra points fur smugness there.

I'm all for teaching self reliance and I agree with her " up to a point"

However if a child comes to you with a problem they can't resolve, you might need to step in.

Abuse happens, and children are too easily dismissed sometimes.

A lot of children really don't want their parents stepping in, and if it's that serious that they have brought it to a parents attention, then IMO the least you can do is listen.

Children often don't want parents stepping in, because they fear it will make it worse, especially with bullying where a child/teenager is likely to feel they are going to get bullied even more.
Boys don't always want to be seen as " mummies boys"

Sometimes it's the only way though.
