I have difficulty recognising faces!

I have the opposite problem. I can recognise people whom I have not met for decades. Most of them cannot remember me from , and do not know me from Adam ( )

As I have got older I have more difficulty recognising faces than I used to, especially those of other women. As you can imagine this can be rather embarrassing to say the least. This morning I was in the supermarket and a woman said 'Hello', I just didn't recognise her even though she is a neighbour. I don't see her that often, but even so I should have known who she was. Of course I was most apologetic and she was nice about it! I would recognise her car though! Strangely enough although I am not an animal person, I recognise dogs better than their owners, WEIRD!

Does anyone else have this problem?

Me too, faces no problem at all, just getting the name.

Another issue, is that I can sometimes remember the nickname of  someone from school, but not sure of their real name!

It's worse than just not remembering names for me, if there are too many characters in a novel I really have a difficulty remembering who did what to whom because the names wont stick in my mind for long enough, I have to write reminders on my bookmark and I'm referring to this list right up to the end of the book and then of course I still can't spell the names of the characters when I've finished the book, if I'm asked to do so.
