'Pin the knob on the Cerne giant.'

That one slipped out during editing (sorry). I hope they don't change it.

I am DISGUSTED that food is being wasted in this way when many people in this world are starving! >:(

They won't be edible, Floo. The knobs will be too hard.

But then those knobs were created just to be hard and tossed off over a field

That's a lot of knobs: perhaps they congregate, such as at Tory party conferences.

At least if someone was hit by a flying knob they'd wouldn't be able to sue - it'd never stand up in court.

But they are using flour etc to make them one presumes?

Self raising flour?

This is the thing with knobs - you get nothing for ages then 4,000 come at once.

Plain would be disappointing.

I think it should be illegal to use food products in this way.

Yes -
'Originally they were made from leftover bread dough with added butter and sugar, hand-rolled into buns and left to dry in the dying heat of the oven
It is thought their name comes from the hand-sewn Dorset knob buttons that were also made locally
They can be eaten with Blue Vinny cheese, dipped in tea or cider, or taken with honey and cream - known locally as thunder and lightning'

Sound nice but I s'pose the ones being thrown are a day or more old so they're hard.

Floo regrettable as it may be there is lot of excess food thrown away in this country & more than a few old rolls. Meat & veg, deli stuff. Supermarket skips are filled up with good food every day. 'nuff to make you become a Freegan!

The rolls should be donated to the food banks before they become unusable.

Do food banks take bread type stuff? Maybe packaged, longlife bread like Scher. Doubt they take unpackaged rolls.
They could be donated to a homeless drop in centre.

It's Bank Holiday Monday and this is a thread about knob jokes. Be off with your serious food bank discussion.

Read TFA. They're made of left over bread dough.

Birds rodents and foxes will eat it.
Those who only come out at night will gather up the rolls, take them back to their caves & toast over an open fire to dip in their communal soup cauldron.
