Nul points

There is an element here on some of the stories of the performers where it reads like a version of Inside No 9 for Eurovision

For a long time the Eurovision Song Contest has been more about politics than the songs.

For a long time the Eurovision Song Contest has been more about politics than the songs.

In all fairness the last two contests have been more about singing and dancing, after the bearded drag queen in 2014 the gay politics message could not be taken any further. I always watch Eurovision, with a bottle or two.

Gorilla costume? A man in a suit wearing a horse head?

This is the best Eurovision for years  :)

As a long time devotee (yes I know how stereotypical of me) I have to say the quality really was better this year.

And the right song won. Hurrah!

I didn't see it but remember I thought last year's show & the winner were good.
Apart from that in recent times it has been more attempting to be funny than anything else with Lordi and the lady with a beard (she could do before and after NoNo adverts).

It doesn't really. Or if it does it shows that the rest of Europe think even less of Germany and Spain - although in Spain's case with the load of cack they delivered they did deserve nul points. The simple truth is, that it's not as simple as the rest of Europe don't vote for us because of BREXIT or whatever the UK is doing at any particular time. It's actually much more to do with geography and neighbours. Occasionally as in last nights winner a song comes along which cuts through all that, but that doesn't always happen.

If Scotland entered they'd stick bagpipes in somewhere and then nul points beckon.  ;D
