Tories: "We were wrong on gay rights"
« on: July 27, 2017, 10:06:36 AM »
Theresa May apologises for the past record of her party on gay rights ... anybody who saw last night's docudrama Against the Law (BBC2) knows that there's plenty to apologise for: http://tinyurl.com/y7c3t4og

It is, in fact, fifty years to the day today since the Sexual Offences Act 1967 became law and partially decriminalised homosexuality.

Pain, or damage, don't end the world. Or despair, or fucking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man, and give some back. - Al Swearengen, Deadwood.

And worth pointing out that while 1967 was a watershed, it wasn't the end of arrests.
