Man Tax
« on: August 10, 2017, 03:25:18 PM »
Australian Café charges men 18% more than women to reflect the pay gap.

You know what, I think this is a good idea... I'd pay.

I don't like it, I think it is sexist.

Yes just like the gender pay gap is.

I'm only guessing here, but I think that may have been the point of the exercise.

Although I don't go along with priority seating - not at my age and with these knees.

Probably, but I still don't like it.

I can see their might be an element of 2 wrongs don't make a right, so you could be correct in your dislike of it.

Yeah does seem sexist - bu it is Australia (have I just said something racist ?!?).

I like the priority seating for women, sexist or not.

I've not worked in an area that pays men and women differently but nowadays who does in the UK? In my mum's day, yes. It was an outrage.

How could you tell if any individual man was paid 18% more than the women in equivalent employment?

Priority seating for women is a joke, except for someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.
