A good response Sassy, but it is based on properties of truth, so don't expect Floo to have a clue about what you are saying!

Here's that 'properties of truth' again. Is this just your latest catch-phrase from your Primer of Thoughts from the Great Philosophers?

Here's a property of truth to consider: is it possible for Christ to be both God the Son and also not God the Son? With reference to Sassy, think well before you answer.

Some Christians claim that god is speaking directly to them, what exactly do they mean by that? How do they know it is god and not their imagination playing tricks?

My late mother-in-law believed she and god were on speaking terms and great buddies. ::) God was apparently in agreement with her about everything including which clothes were suitable to wear, and which TV programmes to watch. ;D

Can't say 'speech' was the predominant characteristic of what I took to be my two epiphanies many years ago (and those two separated by ten years). More like revelations accompanied by huge emotion.
Ironically, they were associated with very different religious systems.

I have other explanations for such theistic experiences these days.

I see you got the usual 'head in sand' like the proverbial Ostrich because she hasn't an answer and thinks no one else will notice it.

Floo, is the only person here who hasn't realised she hasn't a clue about anything religious, even for someone who claims to
have had it rammed down her throat. Maybe her head was 'stuck in the sand' when they were trying to ram it down her throat so never got to see what was being taught rammed down her throat.

I truly thought she would have had a least some idea even basic.

Some of the above is common sense. But God does speak to us directly sometimes. It is to protect us and save us from the things that could hurt us or over power us.  Your imagination cannot predict the future and it certainly cannot warn you of danger.
May be you should be asking why you never heard God speak.

Well, at least we might get a bit less of his "what an answer might look like", an irritating bit of faux-naivete that he pinched from the more tiresome type of philosopher.

You accuse me of being clueless, when your posts don't exactly come over as you having any understanding of what you are talking about! ::)

You see the problem with your answer? Oh NO your head still stuck in the proverbial sand.

You see floo, the fact I can quote scripture shows I know it.
My understanding is God taught and the only thing people disagree with me about is the one thing the scriptures do not confirm for the other people who do not agree..
Hence the scriptures show what I say to be right but the others have adopted a teaching not God or Christ taught.

You cannot even answer with scripture and show no understanding of what others quote from scripture.

The facts are plain. Even now you show nothing but ignorance. :(

The sad part about it, is no one is willing to tell you the truth that is an atheist.  A lot of atheist settle for beliefs without needing proof. They are find till someone questions their system. Because their system is simply repeating what they have learned from others as the going round in circles show. I feel sorry for you because you need honesty not unconditional support when wrong.

you appear to think quoting the bible equates to knowledge , it doesn't . And in so doing you hold yourself up to ridicule .Ignorance of the  things you find important is irrelevant until you can prove what you believe to be true.
I couldn't care less about the bible , I've read it and rejected it .

An ignorant assumption and to be honest you don't have the knowledge and understanding of scripture to debate anything I have said or prove me wrong. THINK should you be replying? Blind leading the blind comes to mind.

Foolish assumption and showing yourself as being ridiculed by your own words.
You see being called ridiculous by the ignorant is pot calling kettle black,
You see if you want to take something I have posted from scripture and prove I was wrong in my understanding of it you might have a chance. But the truth is you can't, have never been able to and too ignorant of scripture and the teaching of God to do so.

You have to resort to insult because you have nothing to support anything you say. Your own posts prove to the learned that you are ignorant and have nothing but insult and no back up for what you say...

Along with Sass you tend to make it up your own version of the faith.  ::)
Says the person who doesn't believe that Jesus rose from the dead, and then asks about why He didn't appear to his mother! You couldn't make it up!!

Talking of making things up: how have you assessed the risk that the Jesus rising from the dead claim isn't made up?
