First heard a Fats Domino song in 1956, booming out from one of the rides at Hull Fair. Amid the cacophony of competing sounds and records, came the powerful and what became for me the unmistakable sound of a piano and a voice which typified my youth. As I heard this voice singing "And I'm savin' all my lovin' just for you" in this deadpan southern drawl and watched teddy boy/girl dressed teenagers dancing around the amplifier, I knew where I belonged. This was my sort of music.
He had a long life and remained faithful to his beloved New Orleans. Cheers, Fat man.
