Fly the flag of Scotland within Scotland's borders, fly the flag of England within England's borders.
Play Scotland the Brave at Scottish events, and play Jerusalem at English events.
We have our identity too.
Can't argue with that. England has a rightly proud reputation as a nation.
Mind you, I'd draw the line at "Scotland the Brave"...hey, even the chap who wrote it, Cliff Hanley, threatened to jump out of the box if the thing were played at his funeral! He wrote the words in five minutes as a variety-style review filler.
(I'm not a great fan of "Flower of Scotland" either, mind - even though I was honoured to have met the late Roy Williamson, who wrote it, on many occasions. I prefer the late Hamish Henderson's anti-war, internationalist "The-Freedom-come-all-ye"...great words, great sentiment and superb tune!)
