Laugh or Cry?
« on: February 03, 2018, 02:01:44 PM »
OK just for the fun of it, the Wail's take.

My first thought on reading this was that it was the SWP, but they do not cover their faces, more likely it is just some silly kids.

Before we work on Artificial Intelligence shouldn't we address the problem of natural stupidity.

That guy is a highly unpleasant creature who deserves no sympathy at all given his views.

I don't care for him either, he always makes me want to kick the telly, I resist the temptation becuase I have not yet entirely paid for it.

But he is not a Fascist, anymore than the late Tony Benn was a Communist, and to claim that he is such is plain stupid.

Excuse me, where did I use the term 'Fascist'?

Well yes he is - but aside from the aspect of freedom of speech, it is surely better to let him air his obnoxious views so that they can be challenged rather than close him down with a punch up (although I gather there was fault on both sides) which then allows them to shout foul, censorship, etc.

That is what the dickheads were shouting at him, they probably do not know what a fascist actually is!

Members of Momentum I believe and maybe Antifa as they typically wear hoodie type dark clothing with face masked

As to the opening question, cry I would say. I feel politics has taken a nasty turn these past few years.
How can something so perfect be so flawed.

I didn't say it was right to physically attack the guy.

In all fairness, since Rees-Mogg looks as if he could not fight his way out of a wet paper bag, then if he did get between rival groups then that was brave of him.

It is easy now to mock the Blair era as a kind of "Camelot" (I mean that in the JFK sense rather than the King Arthur sense), but there were genuine multi party politics, and HoC debates were well mannered, and there was the impression that anybody listening could perhaps learn something.

Now we have "Yah Boo".

An addendum. The joke is that a loathsome throwback to an earlier era such as Rees Mogg, has now been shown as being at least a democrat, as opposed to "progressive" thugs who want to break up political debates.

One definition of fascist is "person who shuts down opposing points of view"

He is Lord Snooty's snide brother. He is the sort that would snitch on you if you spoke whilst the teacher's back was turned.
