Six Nations 2018
« on: February 10, 2018, 08:43:02 PM »
I was unable to see the England Wales match as I was in a French supermarket but my prediction for this year is now

Ireland
England
Wales
France
Scotland
Italy

I may swap France and Scotland after tomorrow.

Reasonable effort from Scotland against France - kind of makes up for our dire effort against Wales last week. I thought the Ireland game yesterday was superb.
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

I am going to swap Scotland and France around in my prediction. France were the better team to start with, but their collapse was almost predictable. I don't think Scotland have enough to threaten England or Ireland.

I didn't see the Ireland game but the result was all too predictable.

Even given yesterday's game - and Laidlaw's boot - we haven't got a hope in the Calcutta cup...unless there's some kind of miracle on one side, and plague on the other.

Wow! Great show from Scotland to lift the Calcutta cup this evening. The auld enemy tried hard, but we were just too good for them on the day.

You got your miracle and plague.

My predicted table is definitely italy looking very creaky. Could see Scotland coming above Wales now snd possibly even making second place.

Plague might be delayed....I can't see Scotland beating Ireland.
My head says no, evn if my heart says yes.
Mind you, I kind of said the same thing before the start of the game this afternoon.

Italy was brillint today - they deserved to win, but, hey, I'll take Scotland's result any day. Ireland deserved the grand slam - they were outstanfing throughout the tournament; I was disappointed by England's performance; given the talent at their disposal they should have done better all round than they actually did, not only this afternoon. The Wales v France game was frankly a let-down. Wales were very lucky; frane, in my view, were the better team.
