Dear Forum,
Just to say it is a crying shame that this great mind has left us, but I have been reading all about him this morning, I read his Brief History of Time and like most of the planet only understood about a tenth of what he was saying.
On reflection, I don't think he has really left us, like my wee hero Albert, his work and great quotes will live on, a life worth celebrating.
On humanity: "We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special"
Interview in Der Spiegel, October 1988
I would have used my very favourite quote from the man but I would like this thread to be a celebration of his life.
Gonnagle.
PS: His Brief History of Time is being discussed on radio 2 at this very moment
