Hi-Tech is being used more and more in archaeology; whether it's CT or MRI scans of mummies, DNA sequencing of mummies to create family trees, Sattelite imaging from space to locate ancient sites, or this example.
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

I'll be interested to know what is written, if it's possible to decipher what is on the fragments.

I, personally think it's wonderful. Just think what we may find out from documents that have been 'written' over in the past. Some not so old either, wink wink ?!?!?!
As long as there's no damage to any artifacts....
