What is apatheism but not allowing oneself to "go there"?
Go where?
On to the topic of religion.
Show your working.
To remain an apatheist you must turn away from any discussion on religion.
Well, presumably that excludes everyone on here, or they wouldn't be members. This place is, after all, called "Religion and Ethics".
I agree. There are no apatheists here.
As covered in previous post Religion does not equal theism. Further non interest neither means you are somehow deliberately maintaining your mom intetest, e.g. I don't turn away from watching knitting programmes in YouTube or turn away from attending Plymouth Argyle football club to, I am just not interested.
They say football takes the place of religion.
That's lovely for 'them', irrelevant as a reply though.
I'm just wondering weather the door is shut more decisively, quickly and extensively on a purveyor of religion or a purveyor of football or whether there isn't such a thing as 'vehement disinterest'?
Sorry, not a clue about what you are trying to say here.
That's a shame.
Someone who is 'vehemently disinterested' in something, to use your term, might ironically be 'interested' in it - since their distaste for this something might lead them to investigate it, or perhaps actively campaign against it. Perhaps a better term in some situations might be 'indifferent': for instance I'm interested in religion even though I'm not religious, but I'm utterly indifferent when it comes to football.
The problem here is Vlad not being clear about terminology
There I was just tootling along when a new category, apatheist comes along.I suppose we're we to find an actual apatheist we could get a better understanding. Even then Hillside would pop up to veto any definition and tell apatheists at they were REALLY ABOUT.I guess I'm working from Wikipedia definitions with qualifications.
Your qualifications seem to be wholesale changes to something that isn't expressed on wiki as pointed out. You didn't and haven't made it clear what you think an apatheist is, and you decide there is no apatheist on here without you making any clear definition.
Demonstrate then how my implied working definitions of apatheism differs or Departs from the oimplied definitions of Wikipedia.
There is nothing in the wiki definition about turning away or about there something there to turn away from. And you it's about apaTHEISM which your continued talk about Religion doesn't follow. (Pointed out that last issue twice before, not sure why you ignored)
