I thought she'd got away with it, with Gove and Johnson toeing the line. Rees Mogg is talking about betrayal and country first. Fuck me, what a shambles.

On Saturday morning when it was proclaimed that a consensus had been reached and the cabinet was behind Mrs May I said to my beloved "I give it 48 hour".

I have a tent and shawl and crystal ball and take bookings at very reasonable rates.

Comment from an EU Diplomat that given the negotiations in Brussels have taken several hundred hours, and that David has been involved in a total of 4 hours, and he was based in London, they will just deal with whomever London sends

Indeed. The hard brexit supporters are not a large component of the parliamentary Conservative Party - which is itself a minority government held in place by the support of the DUP. It is doubtful that there would be sufficient support for Johnson, Gove  or heaven help us, the ghastly man Rees-Mogg. :o

I suspect that the odds of an approaching election have shortened considerably.

When I was around 3, I  painted myself into a corner, and then seeing no way out, painted myself. It feels sort of like that here. I don't see the govt surviving without some form of Brexit, the govt cannot agree on a form of Brexit, but it cannot afford to go to an election, and it's not clear what the largest opposition party would say anyway, the people arguing for a 'people's vote ' on a deal have no chance of a deal being agreed because of the govt not being able to decide what it wants and then having the same problem with elections that the govt has.

Well, she probably feels under siege at the moment, and realises that the negotiations are all Greek to most people. The opposition just need to find her Achilles heel. She's a pretty disastrous Priam Minister.
