I suspect that the Ultras cannot challenge May, as they would lose, the Tories would look like a rabble, and most significantly, they have no clue what to do about Brexit.   The idea of no deal is nonsense.  Can you imagine not trading with EU, planes not flying, companies leaving?   National suicide.  As far as I can see Davis contributed few ideas on Brexit, but then, who has?  Obviously, the civil servants.

A friend just said to me that logically no deal would mean closing the ports to EU traffic, in both directions.   I think 'no' is being used oddly here.

Just to note Johnson was using a turn of phrase familiar to readers of this forum at the end of last week

Well, I was betting that the Brexiteers wouldn't have the balls to unseat May, and go for no deal.   Maybe.

Good article on Davis

Yes, astonishing how ignorant Davis is about the EU.  But are the others any better?   It's only the civil servants keeping them afloat.

Not bad jokes from Corbyn, they couldn't resign on Friday, as because of government cuts, there were no buses from Aylesbury.   I wonder what he's really thinking?   Is this my time?

Boris has now resigned and more resignations are threatened.

Interesting summary on BBC news - the Ultras daren't, Mrs May can't, Boris wishes he only could, and Davis is out of his depth (I made that last bit up).

Nope. He's timed it for maximum embarrassment to May.

As far as I am concerned, Boris Johnson sealed his own political death warrant by fucking up the situation involving Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.

Unfortunately, things like that don't kill political careers anymore. Metaphorically stabbing Teresa May in the back has probably done it. I say "metaphorically" because, even if he's caused her to get the boot, she won't be spending any time in an Iranian jail. Neither will he, unfortunately.

Normally, you would say that Boris is finished, but he may be calculating that if talks break down, and there is no deal, there will be such chaos, empty supermarket shelves and so on, that he will be able to come back.    Thor help us.

I see Ben Bradley has resigned. Worth reading the details of things he hasn't resigned for.

He seems like a scumbag - I can see why he did well in the Tory party.
