Thank you for posting. I heard on a news bulletin yesterday that in Ireland he had asked for forgiveness, which apparently means he wants RCs to forgive the Church. I have very strong views on that.

It's an opinion. Clearly you disagree with it, and so do I, but that doesn't make it sick or inane. "Sick" in particular is a ridiculous word to use in the context.

I wonder if he meant a psychologist or counselling which could help anyone to work out for themselves what they are and what they want. That's the point of it, talking to someone neutral helps. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor, quite different. I didn't get that Pope Francis was suggesting anyone could be somehow 'medically' changed or even talked out of being homosexual (or advocating conversion therapy). It's not a mental illness.

It's meant to be but then given he's the head of church with 1.2 bn followers with a huge problem in it has and is treating children, and a huge amount of riches, then I suggest he can afford better translators and has an obligation to do so.
