Two comments.

1) This stewardess should be made up to the very highest level flight attendant there is. She's a winner and British Airways can expect their passengers to increase, not decrease.


2) I have absolutely no problem with it, as long as she does a good job whilst at work. Who cares? If the company is so bothered, why allow staff home in uniform? These women are expected to look 100%, perfect hair, makeup and such in their own time and with their own money. It was wrong to suspend her.

Not my business what anybody does to earn money but the girl was silly to have her name on display.  If she hadn't, it could have been anyone, even someone posing as cabin crew. Having been identified she was bound to get the push.

LR this isn't really about porn, it's a fact that there are men who buy worn underwear to sniff. Yeah, gross, but there are odd fetishes - details of which you'd rather not know.

I didn't realise BA paid so badly. Other airlines are better, even if salaries aren't particularly high there are many extras and some even provide their staff with an apartment. BA are really stingy imo & there are few perks. However gone are the days when cabin crew were poised, quite well educated and had at least one foreign language. The professionalism is no longer there.

My niece on husband's side was a stewardess for a few years, not with BA, she had good languages, did well & was promoted. When she left she did a degree in International Hospitality (think it was called that) at Oxford Brookes, manages a hotel now with her husband. She says her airline experience was extremely useful. So I suppose there are advantages to the job.

I'm buggered if I'd work on an aeroplane serving food & drink for hours for a pittance.I'd fall asleep on my feet and be sacked for that.

When I came to this thread, I thought it was going to be about another kind of hostess altogether.

I don't know about other posters here, but I don't want the flight attendants when I fly to look pretty or sexy, I want them to be good at their jobs which are primarily about safety and also bringing me my gin and tonic, in return for which I would like them to be paid adequately for what is a pretty shitty job.

Having said that, if I ran British Airways, I'd be livid about this video (although not as livid as I would be about the numbskulls in IT who were responsible for the recent data breach). I wouldn't fire the woman, but she would be getting a lecture about the standards expected of people representing the company.
