Post-solstitial bike ride.
« on: December 22, 2018, 04:51:17 PM »
Beautiful day, so I went off for a ride - Berkhamsted via Gaddesden Row and Dagnall (the long way round), and back to Hemel Hempstead. Had lunch at the Crown in Berko, and bought three PG Wodehouses at the Berko Oxfam Bookshop:'Jeeves Omnibus', 'Frozen Assets', and 'Doctor Sally'. Also six DVDs on a market stall: 'Guest House Paradiso', 'The Simpsons Against the World', 'That Mitchell and Webb Look' series one, 'The Very Best of Bottom', and 'The Office', series one and two. I should, therefore, have plenty to entertain me during any longueurs in the Christmas telly offerings.

I once tried using "chicken" as a password, but was told it must contain a capital so I tried "chickenkiev"
On another occasion, I tried "beefstew", but was told it wasn't stroganoff.

Must have changed a bit since my day. I went to the Crown with my school friends one day and a fight broke out in it. Although we were not involved, we thought it a good time to leave since two of us were only seventeen at the time.
