You talk about people in the army as if they should hold high principles and be above the general level of behaviour in society.

I think you are not understanfing the  purpose of the armed forces. It is ultimately to protect us, and if necessary by killing. That it should attract some unpleasant characters should hardly be a surprise. Yes the army could perhaps do more to weed them out, but in reality they don't because they prefer to have some hard bastards in there to do the dirty work, rather than someone like me who would run a mile at the first sound of gunshot.

Your last point is just rubbish, terrorists are way ahead of us in imagining new ways to kill us.

I am sure you do, in that respect you and Mrs May are very similar.

All I am saying is that you don't seem to realise the reality of the situation.  Soldiers are not paid to be nice. They are paid to kill.
Before we work on Artificial Intelligence shouldn't we address the problem of natural stupidity.

They are not paid to put up a poster of a British politician as target practice.

Agreed.

We need hard bastards in the Army to combat the even nastier bastards they will meet when fighting terrorists.

LR - you are bloody luvcky to have any servicemen/women to stand between you and an enemy, considering what the Govenment is doing to the Paras from Northern Ireland.

During the Aden fighting some idiot in the political arena - the far left - who were supporting the terrorists - wanted to charge any soldier who killed a civilian charged with murder until it was pointed that one of the tenets of the communist credo was to hide terrorists with guns and grenades behind women and children to slow the reaction times of the soldiers and make them easier targets.

LR -Note very carefully - fighting a war is NOT a walk in the park on a sunny Sunday - it breeds a fear such as you, sitting comfortably on your backside at home, will never ever, hopefully, feel or understand, but does wonders for your reflexes, if you live long enough that is.

As to the use of Corbyn's picture - he has demonstrated his support for terroists for years - getting shot by paintballs seems a tame way for soldiers to express their disgust for said support!
The Holy Bible, probably the most diabolical work of fiction ever to be visited upon mankind.

An it harm none, do what you will; an it harm some, do what you must!

We are talking about people in the armed forces, who should be above such disgusting nonsense.
Also young men in their twenties who naturally lack judgement.

There was nothing funny about using Corbyn's image for target practice. It could encourage a terrorist to do the same, only for real. >:(

Not all young men in their 20s lack judgement, nor should they, that is NOT an excuse at all.
