It's Mountfitchet (with a "u") and I live here!

We're not far from Much Hadham (apparently pound for pound the most expensive village in the country by the way), which always sounds a bit Carry On to me.

I was knew someone with a cat called Rubsnif, which was a shortened version of the full name of Krapy Rubsnif...

...which is of course Finsbury Park backwards, which is where the cat came from.

Indeed, I used to do a weekly commute via Stansted to London. Thanks for the correction, I hadn't realised that I passed you quite that frequently on the train.

I think we've had a thread similar to this in the past as I remember posting about place names in Lincolnshire.

A few of my favourite are Mavis Enderby, Bag Enderby, Boothby Graffoe and the magnificent Rand-cum-Fulnery.
