Much time spent watching and reading his work.

   Blast!
He wrote some great novelisations in the Target series of 'Classic' Who, and umpteen brilliant Big Finish storries, starring Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGhan.
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

I think I'll forgo my talking book before I hit the sack tonight;
I'll listen to the Big Finish audio produced and co-written by him
"Death has a name", starring Paul McGhan as the Doctor and the brilliant Sheridan Smith as his assistant Lucie Miller.
