I've just seen an interview of an Huawei representative where he was asked point blank if his company would if used by the west if they would be spying on us, this representative said they wouldn't be doing any spy work on the west, so obviously they don't want to spy on us.

This interview must have really put any of our western authority's minds completely at rest about any possible Huawei security problems?

Yea but the Huawei rep definitely said that they,Huawei wouldn't be doing any spying on the west and he did say it on the BBC news so because it was on a BBC news programme it must be the truth.

Oh dear, they are supposed to have an obligatory Tory minister telling lies to maintain balance!   If they are refusing to come on I doubt that the BBC will last much longer.

BT uses more Huawei equipment in the masts and towers of its mobile network than is allowed under new government rules, meaning it will now have to be stripped out and replaced with hardware from other manufacturers.

Earlier this week, the government said it would allow Huawei to be involved in the non-core parts of the UK’s 5G network, the masts and towers, but with a 35% cap on use of the Chinese company’s equipment. Huawei equipment is banned from use in the core of 5G mobile networks, where data is processed, and from locations such as nuclear sites and military bases.

That's really worrying because the BBC is probably about the only source of news out there that is not beholden to biased interests of one sort or another. The news organisation is actually the only part of the BBC that I would guarantee to protect.

But it's more than that, isn't it.  The BBC is possibly the best known and most generally respected broadcasting organisation in the world. It is certainly the UK's best known brand (I don't count royalty)- bringing respect and admiration from all parts of the planet. What kind of government is willing to trash such a valuable asset?
