I am glad the baby is healthy. :) I wonder what they will call the little lad, the names of his other children would not be to my taste.

To be called Damien, no doubt. I wonder where the 666 birthmark is.
I once tried using "chicken" as a password, but was told it must contain a capital so I tried "chickenkiev"
On another occasion, I tried "beefstew", but was told it wasn't stroganoff.

Pleased for them.

They will certainly have a few tales to tell the little lad as he grows up about the time just before and after he was born!

While I think Boris, just like anyone else, should be entitled to paternity leave, I worry that he's going to go missing again for a couple of weeks. Given that the Government seems incapable of taking any decisions in his absence and there are really, really important decisions required over the next few weeks, this worries me.

I don't think there was any evidence that the government was unable to take decisions in his absence. Maybe they weren't always able to take the right decisions, but I don't see that improving with Boris back at the helm.

Boris would appear to be grateful that he had his life saved by the skill of the NHS clinicians. Hopefully his gratitude will pay dividends and assist him to handle the Covid-19 crisis better than heretofore.

Hmmmm....I've always found wishful thinking a little bit wishful. It's a bit like praying to God. Feels nice but has no actual effect on people or events.

I think the whole thing has made it politically very difficult to dismantle the NHS.

I don't think there was any evidence that the government was unable to take decisions in his absence. Maybe they weren't always able to take the right decisions, but I don't see that improving with Boris back at the helm.
Actually there was a lot of comment within the political media about the way our government is structured - specifically that we have no mechanism for putting someone in the position of de facto interim PM. So basically that if the PM is incapacitated decisions reserved for PM level simply cannot be made. This isn't just an issue now, but has been in the past, for example when Churchill was incapacitated in the early 50s.

And while Boris was ill, depite the notion that Raab is in charge - he isn't, he cannot make decisions that must be taken at PM level. And indeed no significant strategic decisions were taken in that time, despite there being a pressing need for many to be taken. The decision not to relax lock-down is of course a non-decision as it effects no change. Not that it would have been appropriate but I don't believe anyone other than the PM could have taken a decision to release or relax lock down. And that isn't altered if the PM is unconscious in intensive care. It is a major flaw in our constitution, as has been pointed out by many political commentators and academics over the past few weeks.

So this is Boris' track record for children:

"Boris Johnson and Marina Wheeler, who separated in 2018, have four children together: Lara Lettice, 26, Milo Arthur, 24, Cassia Peaches, 22, and Theodore Apollo, 20.

He also has a fifth child, Stephanie Macintyre, with art consultant Helen Macintyre. Ms Macintyre's daughter is allegedly one of two children he fathered as a result of an affair.

The Appeal Court ruled in 2013 that the public had a right to know that he had fathered a daughter during an adulterous liaison while Mayor of London in 2009 - but also mentioned the possibility of a second baby.

It is not known if the Prime Minister has any more children - but his baby boy with Carrie Symonds is officially his sixth."

So let's play pretend. If the PM was female and if she was leader of the Labour Party in government does anybody here think that she would receive the kind of sycophantic response that Johnson has garnered from the press if the same sort of colourful life had been lived by her?

For clarification if you answer "yes" to the above question you need to check yourself into some kind of facility that deals with deprogramming after brainwashing.

What a name!  How cruel and thoughtless. The selfish parents have ensured that poor child does not have " de Pfeffel " anywhere in his name.

Wilfred would definitely not be my choice of name, Lawrie and Nicholas are ok though.

I only posted the first three words of that, and they make no sense without the rest of the sentence.

The whole sentence you made as follows: 'To be called Damien, no doubt. I wonder where the 666 birthmark is.

To which I responded with:Yet another woke promo, it must be wonderful to be amongst the so much holier than thou super intelligent woke community.

Somehow the rest of your sentence wasn't there, I've no idea how that happened?
