  • God? She's black.
I once tried using "chicken" as a password, but was told it must contain a capital so I tried "chickenkiev"
On another occasion, I tried "beefstew", but was told it wasn't stroganoff.

Not a huge surprise.

We aren't exactly covering ourselves in glory.

Since when has England been bothered about what France think of us. I can assure you that the USA will not lose sleep over anything.
What France, would worry about is the close liaison we have with America. We have always had each others back in certain political situations.
Germany is the worst country to be trusted as is the Russians, China and Japan.
Given our placement in the world and the USA it would be difficult for the countries mentioned apart from France to do anything to control or take over.

No Country should worry about what others think of us. Our forces and our Government know how secure we really are. One thing you do not want to see is China at war backing
Russia in any move to attack Israel. It would be a dark day if they tried to enter over the hills into Israel.
We know we have to work together to abolish war and terrorism to create a compassionate  world in which Justice and peace prevail. Love ;D   Einstein

The UK should be concerned about what others members of the EU think about us, in my opinion. As for the US with the lunatic Trump as president, its image is looking worse and worse with each passing day.

"Since when has England...." OK; steam coming out the eaers. England, Sass? Are we to kowtow to England? There are four nations in this decrepit mess of a union, Sass, not one. And that's your problem, right there. The majority English Tory rabble do not consider or care about the other nations...they consider us part of England. We most certainy are not. Get rid of that phrase and I might read the rest of your post.

I wouldn't actually bother. It doesn't get better  ;)

Pretty much the entirety of English history - that's why we get into so many fights with them.  If we didn't care, we'd ignore them - historically we've not done that.

Not as much as we should.

We have always had each others back in certain political situations.

No. The US intervened in WWI (against strong internal opposition) primarily to shore up its export markets because the knock-on effects of the ware were starting to bite - if they'd intervented earlier - say 'because they had our back' - then perhaps the effects of the Great Depression could have been mitigated.  Which is, of course, not to ignore the fact that the main reason WWI actually escalated into the war it did was because so many European treaties involved 'we've got your back' clauses instead of 'we'll intervene if it's justified' clauses and everyone just got dragged in.

In WWII the US only got involved once they'd been attacked directly; they came in late and have been trying to steal the glory from the Soviet Union's actions ever since.

Germany is the worst country to be trusted as is the Russians, China and Japan.

Germany is probably one of the most trustworthy - as 'Yes, Minister' put it so candidly they're still trying to regain admission to the human race.  The Russians and Chinese, I'd agree, are currently fairly duplicitous.  The Japanese can be trusted so long as you know them - they're predictable within their own tenets, because they're so rigidly bound to their concepts of honour, dedication and the like - they won't decieve you, but they won't go out of their way to make sure you appreciate the consequences of what they're planning.

Who's talking about taking anything over?

No Country should worry about what others think of us.

Of course we should, it affects any number of elements of international relations.

Our forces and our Government know how secure we really are.

Which is why we shouldn't be agitating the few reliable allies that we still have.

Quote
One thing you do not want to see is China at war backing Russia in any move to attack Israel.

Then we probably need to cooperate with our rational allies to get the US to dial back its pro-Israel activities of the past few years.

Quote
It would be a dark day if they tried to enter over the hills into Israel.

Almost as dark as if Israel, emboldened by US support, annexes even more land from the Palestinian people and expands the settlements - one of those is significantly more likely in the current climate than the other.
