Hi Gonners - always a pleasure to hear from you, and thanks for your kind thoughts re my daughter.

I'm not really "back" as such. I just looked in to read the right rites over the OM schtick, but then allowed myself to be dragged in to another thread when Hope reminded me what a lousy ad for Christianity some Christians can be.

As for Shakes and Prof Davey, there we part company - each is are more than capable of holding his own in my experience.

I hope I didn't sound insensitive, likening the end of summer to your girl going off. It's just that it's another summer over, time together that's gone. It's all so precious.

She's arrived safely I'm glad to say - I've been flooded with What'sApp messages from her, so it's not like back in my day when we'd disappear for six months with only the odd postcard to tell our folks we were still alive. Ah well - I've got a feeling that I could be 90 and I'd still be worrying about my "babies" in their 70s!

Aww. Good to know she can keep in touch. My younger girl started senior school this week and my eldest is starting DofE with one eye on her university application. It goes in the blink of an eye.
