4 Seasons, Rag Doll.  This is as close to realized eschatology as music ever gets.

If you like clever discussions of pop, this is quite nice, about the Gaag.  I think it's wrong though.  Pop will go on and on and on, coz it iz fab.  It's the surface, stupid.

Just to remember Dusty Springfield, the immortal and wondrous Dusty, who died 14 years ago today, here she is with brother Tom in the early years.  Who realized that she would become one of the greatest singers we have known?  RIP.

You sang to me...

revival is always important as is renewal...

God must love us so much and music was one of his best ideas as was the ability to sing.

Oh, we went to see the Rumours of Fleetwood Mac concert last night (edit, not last night - night before!). Great show, by a really good tribute act, great musicians and singers and timeless songs.

Thoroughly recommended if anyone else gets the opportunity.

Actually, we saw the real thing in 1980 at Wembley Arena and very very disappointed, poor show. :(

In memory of Marc Bolan, whose shrine I live right next to, and on TV tonight (BBC4).  You're still great, kid!

line the drinks up, put this track on, and shiver me timbers, boyo, there's much binding in the marsh.  Ride on Time.  Nice model in the video, not the singer.

Just picked up the march from the old 1936 film "Things to Come", have a listen, I managed to get it via "Spotify".

The whole film is available on Youtube as a freebie, "Things to Come", acting has changed considerably since 1936.

Regards to all iplova

Watching Leah McFall sing 'Loving You' on the Voice made me hunt for the original, a nice track.  Now I feel old, cos I remember it.  Recorded by many people of course.  Minnie Riperton died at the age of 31 from breast cancer.

Trouble is, like chocolates, one 1970s melodic pop/soul track just isn't enough.

Rose Royce, Love don't live here anymore.

And just a shout for Bobby Blue Bland, who died yesterday, one of the great blues/soul singers.
