Some Moog

Claude Denjean - Venus

Was the MOOG mono or polyphonic?

Outrageous track BTW

No idea.

I only asked as the track appeared more like a multi mono track - I'll get my coat

I love the genius of the white album. There are some beautiful harmonies there. I respect your opinion to like whichever album you deem proper my friend.

I think it is hard to say "I like the Beetles" as the  early, "Love me do" stuff is a million miles away from "A day in the life"  say, I find the early stuff of "social interest" I liked it when George M started to stretch their writing ability - I suppose I rather like Revolver as a "proper" album!

I'm no officiando, but some of the arrangements and use of complexity is "fab"

Absolutely, some of the song arrangements are stunning.

Oh yes, The Beatles.......the Take That of their day (evil smiley).

I agree that they were responsible for some good song writing, it's just a pity that they couldn't deliver themselves (another evil smiley).

Case in point is a link I posted a while back:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXcR0erWxBM&feature=youtube_gdata_player

There are loads of funk and jazz covers that show how it should be done. Then again I don't think that there can be such a thing as a bad Jazz cover. How else could 'Favourite Things' be a Jazz standard?

I really don't mean to offend by any of the above. I'm just expressing my own tastes and when I set aside my own preferences, I've got a lot of love for anyone who is passionate about music. Even if we don't see eye to eye, I can pretty much guarantee that I can find some common ground.

Isn't that what this thread is about?

Definitely. I've always had a passion for music and hugely respect talented musicians. I was actually thinking of taking up the violin or guitar as apart from banging the odd drum I've never taught myself how to play an instrument properly.

One of the weird things about starting a band - I've had a few goes - is that people will come together regardless of their disperate tastes and produce something original for the sake of creativity.

I just wish that I had the patience to build on my musical and DJ skills. Now I have to settle for being a poor man's Gilles Peterson.......not exactly something that goes down well at an average wedding reception.

I've had this for a while, but hearing it at the end of an Almighty Johnsons episode I had to share a link. Sola Rosa ft. Spikey Tee:

Another soundtrack moment. This time from Crazy, Stupid, Love - The Bamboos: On The Sly (with the amazing Kylie Auldist).....that's what happens when I get to pick a romcom. Unfortunately the GF has to put up with me going on a musical rampage........tonight I will mostly be playing Australan and NZ funk and dub.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6r0_MhILT0M&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I've said it before, but what the hell do they put in the water down under........and can I have some. It's like a Dr. Funkenstein LSD in the water experiment gone right.

A couple more before I get in trouble.

Sola Rosa again - with guest vocals from Bajka:

And another Bajka number:

Bajka has done loads of guest appearances as well as solo recordings, so it's well worth digging around her Discogs profile.

One more - this is what happens when 'someone' wants a quiet night in but I need to let off steam after a shitty week. A warm embrace, a glass of Jack and a spiff is all very good, but sometimes you just want to dance like you've lost your mind.

If anyone asks I was just charging my iPad.
