What ever happened to Gary Glitter - He was one of the Major artists of the 70's; yet we never hear of him anymore?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Msnt4lLm-g

Only when he's been nicked for kiddie fiddling.

Oxygen was the last thing I listened to by Jean.

Gary Glitter was deported wasn't he after his second case of child sexual encounters.  Don't wanna be in his gang.

Obviously didn't know the right people.

'I love you love, you love me too love, I love you love, you love me love...'

God, you could never get out of it.

There are some places where if you put in complaint about it, gangs of kids start on you.

Let's get together again... all you need is here to stay...

One of the guys in my class became quite popular as he had a look of him.
I bet he is glad he never went bald. ;D

I have everything up to "Magnetique" AKA Magnetic field by Jarre.
At that point, I just lost interest.
No attraction.

I don't think it is loss of interest as much as them disappearing off the music scene for a while.  Then they make a come back. Madonna now planning a tour and album release I guess that is because of Lady Ga Ga stepping into the limelight.
People need to know when to let go and let others have their time in the spotlight.

What about the proper recording session in the video? Makes a change from the ADD style of production associated with many 'artists' today.

With the help of Autotune and endless takes even an idiot like me could put together a chart-worthy.

Scaramunga you may like to listen to this in the small hours....
The Animals - House of the Rising Sun
This is the squeaky clean studio version (still great) but I saw them live
many moons ago and WOW!

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmdPQp6Jcdk

Chas Chandler (the slightly chubby-cheeked quy) went on to become
Jimi Hendrix's manager and Alan Price later became successful as a solo artist.
Eric Burdon's raucous voice suits this song a treat and the keyboard input, AP,
makes it magic.... enjoy!  :)

I'm not big on the Animals, but I've always liked that tune.

You'll either love or hate this:

Must say I didn't know anything about Alan Price's
dishonourable behaviour.... pretty bad eh?  :(

It's always sad to hear about these kinds of squabbles.........and it all seems a bit pointless when it comes to a song that's probably more than a 100 years old.

This arrived in the post this morning:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F56dNtsyfIA

I heard Brassroots do a version a while back, but I think that the Soul Rebels own this. It shouldn't exactly come as a surprise, since they are after all one of the pioneers responsible for the Nu Brass sound.

Why did you have to go an post that?

Somewhere in my collection I've got a super rare extended rework/remix of that song and I can't for the life of me figure out who it's by or where it is.........and I only listened to it a few weeks back.

They're not bad and there are quite a lot of jazz versions that I really love.

Flack's 'First Time' version is still the best IMO and the rework I'm thinking of is based around that recording, which has been overdubbed and extended with lots of new original instrumentation - I think it's 15 or 20 minutes long, but I might be wrong.

Oh well, it will come to me eventually.

Great musicianship, but not my bag really. I do however appreciate the recommendation - good music should be celebrated.

You probably won't like this, but as another cold winter sets in, this will be my theme every time I get ready to walk my dog:
