Oops - sorry.
Have you posted your cards yet?
I once tried using "chicken" as a password, but was told it must contain a capital so I tried "chickenkiev"
On another occasion, I tried "beefstew", but was told it wasn't stroganoff.

Definitely not. I told them the stories about father Christmas.which they'd heard from other angles, but I always expressed them in terms which were not lies.

Have you made your Will?

(If this question has been asked before, I apologise, but I cannot follow this thread as I am not quick enough, but as today is early, I've taken the opportunity to drop in!)

No. I ought to, I suppose.

Do you like apricots? I loathe them.

I like dried apricots better than the fresh ones.

Do you like beetroot? I dislike it.

Yes I do, pickled and freshly cooked, used to buy it from greengrocers still warm. Nice with fish and chips which I haven't had for ages.

Do you clean your fridge magnets? I'm asking because one of mine looks quite filthy & I've only just noticed. Not surprising becos Charlie & I are messy cooks.

(Susan, glad to read you didn't teach Santa as fact, neither did I)

I clean the fridge magnets when necessary.

What sort of fridge and freezer do you have? We have large American style ones.

Tall one. Top half fridge, bottom half freezer. No idea if that's "American style". The ones I see on telly seem twice as big.

Do you like pickled eggs? Mmmm!

Nehru - because his political mind has always fascinated me

Charles Dickens - because I admire his writing and want to ask how he came up with so many ideas and characters

Vera Brittain - because of her views on Pacifism

Queen Elizabeth the First - to see how we view people through the prism of history  gets distorted

Shostakovich - much the same reason as for Dickens but in terms of music

Carravagio - as I like his paintings

& Bette Davis - because you need a bit of grit in the oyster

Which season is your favourite and why?

Cajun. Spicy but not too hot.

Holiday long weekend, city break, never been there yet but would like to go.

New York for me.

I think it was this, though it's badly expressed: "Holiday long weekend, city break, never been there yet but would like to go."

Melbourne, to see my son, d-in-l, and grand-daughter.

Which do you prefer - the Goons, or Monty Python?

The Goons.

Which of today's comedy programs do you prefer?  Mine would be 'Would I lie to you'.

Horizon  -  easily the best science documentary series ever broadcast in this country. It often examined complex subjects but was always accessible without being patronising.

Which do you prefer as a companion animal - dog or cat ... and why?

Cat. Not that I dislike dogs but bollocks to taking the dog out for walks on freezing cold winter mornings and you couldn't pay me enough money to pick up dog shit either, even if I had a hundred bags over my hand.. My ex made me into a cat person. I love that cat. We're best friends, my ex and I, and when I go round to hers the cat always comes to sit on my lap and purrs.

How much time off work do you get for Christmas?

Two days, for Christmas and Boxing Day (this year Monday, in lieu of BD, which is on a Saturday), making four days in all, with the weekend.

What are you having or did you have for lunch? Me - cold roast gammon, skin-on chips, baked beans with peeled, chopped tomatoes, and apple sauce. I finished it half an hour ago.

Salad as usual, today we had it with cheese and onion slices.

Sometimes, especially in the evening & with friends (not this lunch-time, quick bite then going back in a minute).

Do you know how to change a wheel (car)?

My father taught me how to change a wheel when I first learned to drive a car at the age of 12, but I doubt I could do so now.

Do you have the car radio on when you drive? I don't as it disturbs my concentration.

Yes, all the time. I need something to listen to.
