I don't think so - there are no significantly discernible differences between biologically male and female brains, so there is no reason to think that gender differences should have a structural source even if we presume that consciousness does.

My response to yes/noes is always how so?

Gender used to be whatever sex you were and that dependent on Genitalia, possession of Certain chromosomes and the presence of the barr body in one's cell.

 If not attached to,⁹ controlled by, influenced by body, where is the idea of one's gender coming from?

I'm not suggesting that gender is not originating in the brain, I'm pointing out that my take is that gender isn't hard-wired into the brain, given that we can't spot significant structural differences between the brains in biologically male and female bodies.
