And yet the nerves get to him and a double fault to give up the break.

And Djokovic takes 2nd set.  Still don't think he's playing his best.

I heard the final score on FiveLive but it was obviously very close.

As was mentioned in the commentary, Djokovic can win by just doing enough. He played the big pints better than he played on average, Shapovalov played them worse than he played on average.

Two interesting and intriguing finals rather than great.
In both there were very few times where both players played their best at the same time. In both, the underdog fought back from a nervous start. In both the favourite did enough to win.

Djokovic is a player I admire rather than love but he keeps delivering. Hitting the same number as Federer and Nadal in slams, he looks like he will then move the number on. A win at the US would be extraordinary.

Norrie into the final where he will play Nakashima

Watson out of Olympics but both men's doubles teaks through with Andy Murray/Salisbury putting out the 2nd seeds Herbert and Mahut

Andy Murray up against Auger Aliassime tomorrow. I fear the end of his 9 year reign as Olympic champion

Murray and Salisbury out. and Broady out as well. So no medals in tennis for UK. Nishikori is through to last 8, so maybe there is a fairytale for Japan in the men's.

ETA: Just had a look at the draw, and he's playing Djokovic next.

Thank you. I'm glad it was a close match, rather than a one-sided one.

Only Konta left in the singles for the UK in the Canadian Open with a tough match against Svitolina later today.

Nadal pulls out of the Canadian Open and along with Federer must be a doubt for the US Open
