I caught that on the radio during the night, but I'm sorry he was beaten easily!

And Karatsev into the semi final. Have to admit had not heard of him before this week.

Easy win for Osaka.

Serena played great match against Halep setting up great looking semi final against Osaka.

Djokovic beats Zverev in 4 sets. Unless the injury Djokovic has been playing with gets worse, difficult to see Karatsev getting any further.

A shock seeing Barty knocked out from a set and a break up. The wait for an Australian singles winner of the Australian Open continues.

Medvedev's win over Rublev moves him up to 3 in the rankings. If he wins the tournament he would be ranked second.

What a match from Tsitsipas and Nadal!. Coming back from 2 sets down against Nadal has apparently only ever been done twice.

Osaka beats Williams in straight sets, and reading the news conference you have to wonder if it's Williams last Australian Open

Salisbury and Ram make final of men's doubles, knocking out Soares and Jamie Murray, but Salisbury knocked out in mixed doubles semi final.

Medvedev beats Tsitsipas in straight sets. This a seriously impressive winning streak from Medvedev as it has because of it taking place across the ATP finals and ATP Cup meant that he's played a lot of top ten players. I make it 12 of the 20 match winning streak has been over top ten opponents.

And Osaka wins her 4th Slam, she's looking as if a very large number is possible.

In the end a bit of a damp squib of a men's final. Medvedev lost focus after a tough first set. 18 Slams for Djokovic and will shortly pass Federer's record for weeks at No1.

Interesting link. I hope he can retain a sense of humour and not let the getting older, should retire, etc comments get to him too much.

I heard a brief mention of that on the radio - I wonder how he'll fare?

Was it a case of experience over energy, do you think? Or did they appear to be fairly equally matched?

Federer was not at his best but given it's his first match oj over a year not surprising. I thought Evans did well but also didn't play as well as I've seen him. Very difficult to conclude much from it.
