I heard a word or two about that on FiveLive yesterday evening.
I wonder if the players have found the unpredictability of the on/off matches and the changes in the routines have made life more interesting and given them a greater incentive to train etc.
I would suspect it's affected different players in different ways. It certainly seems to have helped players like Karatsev Evans, and Sabalenka (now ranked no 4 after beating Barty in Madrid).
Evans did, however, get knocked out in Rome this morning, and it sounds like he was way below the standard he has been playing. Also Ruud who has been doing well pulled out injured.
Medvedev is back to no 2 in the rankings, with Nadal dropping points last week. He's not defending any points this week so a win would put him close to Djokovic.
