Serena retires with injury. Is that the last time we see her at Wimbledon?

De Minaur looking good, could do well this week and Wimbledon
Well this didn't age well with De Minaur knocked out in 1st round at Wimbledon. Knocked out by Sebastian Korda who is having a great breakthrough season. Son of Petr Korda who won the Australian Open, and brother to Nelly Korda who has just won the US Women's PGA golf major.

Not been great tourney for the young Italians with both Sinner and Musetti knocked out first round. I will note that Alcaraz, a young Spaniard is through and looking good.

But if you combined Musetti and Sinner's ages ypu would be 3 years under Venus Williams' age, and she's been knocked out today by Jabeur. As with Serena, it may be the last time we see here at Wimbledon. Indeed I think that's pretty well certain. Sad changing of the guard.

I turned on FiveLive and listened to a bit of the third set, then turned off. turned on again later and it was 2-0 in the fifth set, so I had to listen to the end.

Watching what I presume is near the finish in Federer vs Gasquet, with what looks like a certain Federer win. Must be a good chance this is the last of Gasquet at Wimbledon. What a beautiful backhand he has!

Huge win for Radacanu. Three British men in 3rd round. Looking forward to Norrie vs Federer

I'm just wondering whether I'll be able to listen all the way through the Andy Murray match  this evening! I'd like him to win of course, but if he does not, I think it will not be too agonising as he did so well to get here!

Murray out in straight sets, and that doesn't seem a surprise.

He was up against a very strong player but considering his circumstances - the artificial hip - has done wonders to get this far in the competition.

The result could not have been otherwise really, but no matter, Murray has not made a fool of himself; on the contrary, I think he has probably earned some new fans  too.

However, I had to turn over to the football occasionally because there was a silly female commentator who really spoilt it for me, gabbling on about what he should or shouldn't doo and not shutting up when the pplayers were serving. I got the impression that even Russell Fuler (it was him, wasn't it?) was beginning to get annoyed with her. Far too keen on the sound of her own voice and probably forgetting that people listening to Five Live might well be doing so because they cannot watch TV at the same time. *frown*

Ah, yes, thank you. She is the one who only took her A-levels recently, is she? Well done indeed.

And Federer beats Norrie in 4 sets. First couple of sets thought Norrie was slightly off his game. Sonego up next for Federer.
