Konta beats Svitolina fighting back from a set down. Plays Gauff next.

Or rather didn't play Gauff, as Konta pulled out with a knee injury

In the Western and Southern Open, the four top seeds have made the men's semi finals, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Zverev, and Rublev. While Djokovic has skipped this one, it feels as if thos may be a fairly common line up infuture, with Thiem if he returns from injury and depression, and Berrettini, Shapovaliv, Ruud, Hurkacz, and Sinner, the obvious other contenders. Can't see this being a period where there is a big 3 or 4 hoovering up all the slams. That doesn't mean, of course, that Djokovic won't complete the calendar slam but I suspect if he does he might find it harder to motivate himself - rather as he did after completing the Nole Slam.

Elsewhere Raducanu is into the semi final in Chicago.

Obviously plenty of interesting tennis going on. The sets of new top names are becoming a little more familiar now.

Zverev wins in Cincinnati, making him tye 2nd favourite to Djokovic for the US Open.

Raducanu loses in 3 sets to Tauson who is actually a month younger than Raducanu.

Murray wins easily in first round of Winston Salem, harder match against Tiafoe next.

As far as I can see, it looks as if Murray came back from 5-1 down in the second set? Anyway, it will be interesting to see how he does in the Us Open.

Well done to Evans.

Tough draw for Murray against Tsitsipas. Norrie's draw also tough against the fast rising Spaniard Alcaraz who is in the semi finals at the Winston-Salem tournament today. Evans draw looks easier with Monteiro but he's not been on form on hard court swing.

Konta drawn with Mladenovic which would be tough anyway without the doubts around her fitness. Watson has a winnable match against Juvan.

Raducanu, Dart and Boulter all in the final round of qualifying today.

I have read the article - Murray certainly seems to have a justified complaint and his opponent's words sound a bit weasely. Hmm
