So, just to be clear: The UK has refused to give the EU ambassador full diplomatic status. The UK has just given Myanmar's replacement ambassador to the UK, appointed by the military junta who just staged a violent coup, full diplomatic status.

I have a sinking feeling that this is going the way of Syria. The junta is backed by, mostly, China and Russia, looking out for their own interests, and other countries feel unable to intervene for risk to theirs.

Even if they wanted to... what practically could be done?
