Do unknown knowns exist? Can you know something, but not know that you know it?
Perhaps it depends upon what you mean by 'you'. Parts of your body may be 'aware' of a bacterial infection and act upon it but your reasoning mind may not be aware of it until the symptoms are sufficiently developed.
It also depends on what you mean by "know", and I don't think that counts, except very metaphorically.
I suspect Vlad has got his terms in the wrong order here and meant 'known unknowns, which is a more reasonable proposition.
