No full-time return to the office for over a million
« on: May 06, 2021, 01:09:59 PM »
To be honest, I find this a bit bizarre. I haven't worked in the office full time for well over 5 years. It's just another trend that Covid has accelerated. The main thing is for companies to plan sensibly for it

Prior to this new job I worked the majority of the time from home, and found it very old fashioned and time consuming to have to go into the office every day.

I work in IT so I could work just as effectively on the Moon.

I hope this trend to home working catches up with my new 'old fashioned' company!

Quite. We were doing 3 days a week in the office prior to Covid but even without Covid, there was an office move planned which would have reduced that to 2 days a week.

I was walking past a building site a couple of weeks ago. It would seem that new houses don't have four bedrooms now but three bedrooms and a home office.

My older daughter and her husband cannot wait to return to their office as they find having to phone or otherwise connect with senior staff is not the most efficient way of working.

There's no internet on the Moon and even if there were, the theoretical minimum latency is 2.6 seconds.
