The problem will be,  as with so much corruption and incompetence in this country, it's almost certain nothing will really come of it.

I'd like to say I'm shocked, but I'm not. That's probably just what the government is aiming for. Bombard us with a barrage of ill-advised decisions, contrary applications of the law or just plain ignoring the law and longstanding protocols. All in the hope that we'll cease to pay attention to their mendacious ways.

And, of course, it's working.
