Pity that some fan(s) did this.

The laser thing was stupid but there's no evidence it put the goalie off. As for booing. Fans have always done that. Try tobunsettle the opposition. Nothing wrong with that.

I think the way some English fans have behaved is disgusting, it would serve them right if their team, lost.

Yes and no.

At a time when Southgate has done much to improve the way the English team is perceived, some of the supporters have not behaved at their best. The laser pen thing was potentially dangerous. The booing was disheartening. I don't buy the argument that  other supporters have always done that.

In other words it would have been a pleasant change if the supporters had followed the lead of Southgate and the team and had actually risen above the pack.

Be better than them.

Some hope with some England supporters.

The laser pointer thing was one "fan". That fan needs to be found and needs to experience some sort of punishment.

The national anthem thing was a lot of fans, but it's hardly unusual, sadly. How is a national football authority supposed to stop it?

I don't really give a shit about the national anthem pish but can you say there was only one fan involvrd in the laser thing? It's one of the reasons I used the bracket here as I could not rule out more than one fan passing it rpund,or mord than one laser pen, or one fan bringing it in and another fan using it.

One laser pointer = one person holding it. Having a laser pointer isn't problematic in itself any more than me having a set of sharp knives is problematic as long as I don't try to stick them in people. It's the person who tried to incapacitate Casper Schmeichel with a laser pointer that's the problem.

It's impossible for it to be passed about? It's impossible for it to brought in by one person and given to another to use? The possibility of it being 1 fan was why I used brackets.

Matchday. Already well excited. I'm probably going to become more and more unbearable the closer we get to kickoff and the more beer I've drunk. Might have Three Lions, Vindaloo, World In Motion and Sweet Caroline playing on a loop for the rest of the day. LOL!

Apparently, the South American equivalent of the Euro is the Copa America, and it's just been won by Argentina.  https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/argentina-win-copa-america-to-end-lionel-messi-s-long-wait-for-major-title/ar-AAM0Wuz?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

My son what's apped me this, and this is one version I like:

Our father, who art in Wembley,
Southgate be thy name.
The cup will come,
Kane's work will be done,
In London as it was in Rome.
Give us this day our daily pint
And forgive Sterling's offside trespasses
As we forgive those who bet against us.
Lead us not into under-achievement
But deliver us the title.
For football's coming home.
The history and the glory,
Forever and ever,
Our men.

 ;D ;D

From 30 minutes in the 1st half, England have forgotten they are at home.

I listened all the way through on Five Live, but have to say, I found the whole thing rather boring except for the first few minutes!

Jorginho on Grealish, or Chiellini on Sako? Jorginho I agree, Chiellini's looked worse but I think it was just a yellow.

Which was characteristic of Italy's cynicism - as they have always done, they did as much as they needed, skirted the line and then when they got booked either subbed off or backed off half a step. They played the ref better than England did, which was the difference between the teams in the end.

Outstanding performance by a relatively young England team through the tournament, and bodes well for the World Cup next year.
