 Watched the Nadal-Aliassime five set match on tv yesterday - a very tough game for Nadal.

 Would be nice to see Cilic get through today - but not expecting it...

An easy win for Cilic which I have to admit to being glad about as well as he fights back up the ratings.

An a big win for Rune over Tsitsipas.


Even with Ruud, and Rublev winning and getting to the quarter finals, the top half of the draw with Djokovic, Nadal, Zverev, and Alcaraz looks even more stacked know.

Trevisan and Gauff into the women's semi finals. Great story for Trevisan who had 4 years out due to an eating disorder.


All UK interest gone with Skupski and his partner Koolhof, and Salisbury and his partner Ram knocked out on the quarter finals of the men's doubles.

Nadal beats Djokovic, and Zverev beats Alcaraz. The crowd atmosphere in the Nadal - Djokovic match was quite unpleasant from the spectators against Djokovic, much moreso than previous years.

Yes, was pretty clear. Djokovic also showed his frustration inappropriately a couple of times. In the end it was all about ... tenacity :)

I listened to FiveLive commentary for most of fourth set and it certainly sounded as if there was some powerful rallies; and the commentary was good too.

Agree, though in tennis terms now not quite as old a dog as many. Nadal is 2 years and 4 months older.
He's joined in the semi finals by Ruud who whioe having reached a final of a Masters tournament is definitely making a significant breakthrough here.


In the women's, Swiatek continues her winning streak, and will face Kasatkina in the semi finals. Kasatkina, is after Swiatek, the highest ranked player left in the women's, having been ranked 20 at the start of the tournament.

So Swiatek v Gauff in the final. Both winning easily. Gauff provisionally ranked 13 but would move up to 8th with a win.

Men's final of Nadal, after Zverev retired injured in middle of what looked to be an epic, and Ruud, who has won more clay court matches than anyone else over the last 2 seasons - BUT Nadal looking for his 14th!!!! French title has never been beaten in a final at Roland Garros.

So the champions are the favourites, Swiatek and Nadal. Nadal's records at the French are barely believable and look unmatchable.
