OK. I've been avoiding this wordle malarkey but as a result of Jeremyp's post I succumbed and tried it:

Three guesses is pretty good. I normally get it in four.

I didn't get it at all today. By the time I got close, there were too many letters that could start the four letters following it.

Yeah, I got lucky. Once I got the last four, there were at least four possible answers and I nailed it with the second one.

I read that based on the letters that appear most frequently in words, the best first word to use is 'LATER' so I tried using that.

Took all 6 goes to get it right today - as yesterday my first word contained no correct letters in any position.

Quite irritating. In my second guess, I forgot to take into account I had one letter in the right position already. I could have got it in three (or two with some luck).

I think that there are maybe certain words that would have a be better chance of containing some relevant letters - my first word today was 'waken', which was useless.
