As it seems like everybody has now posted their attempt at 1,006, I will post the list of possibles if you are only missing the fourth letter:

shave
shake
shame
shape
shade
shale
share

There are seven. In my case, the bottom one was taken out by my starter word and three others were taken out by guesses 2 and 3. So, in fact, by guess 4, I only had three possibilities left and I was always going to get the right answer.

3 were taken out by my first 2 guesses, SLATE and SPARE, 3rd guess was SHAKE, and 4th guess happened to be right.
