A good starter is not too obscure and has no repeated letters (so that if it's wrong at least you discover the status of as many letters as possible), should contain an e, as that's the commonest letter in English, and thus most likely to be there, and should not contain any rare letters such as x and z, for the converse reason, so yes, it's good.
In view of that, I think I'll change my usual starter, as it doesn't contain an e.
